Walter Camp was one of the giants of football. He stands among the other greats like Stagg, Rockne, Thorpe and Warner. Camp is the father of American football and drove its evolution from rugby. He played in the first Yale-Harvard game of rugby in 1876. From that point on he conceived what Americans now watch in high school, college and the NFL. This 4x6.5" example was shot pretty close in time to the first because Camp appears to be no different looking in it. It’s a classic portrait photo with the ornate "G.W. Pach" photography stamping on the reverse. In NRMT overall condition.
