This is the actual Pan Am Games silver medal presented to Dave Silvestri, who went on to the Olympics, and then to MLB from 1992-99 most notably for the New York Yankees. This was the qualifying round that got them to the 1988 Seoul Games. The medal even comes in its original box that reads, "Games of the XXIVth Olympiad Seoul 1988" and has the original ribbon. Medal has the all-important "BASEBALL" incised and "Indianapolis" embossed on the medal. Baseball was introduced as a demonstration event at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, as it was in 1988 Seoul.
