Obtained directly from Rachel Robinson the wife of Jackie Robinson, this important relic was worn by Jackie during his National League Championship season of 1952. The gorgeous home white is in spectacular condition and is the last of the four jerseys that Rachel owned, all now buried in collections and scattered to the ends of the earth. Quite possibly the greatest piece we are offering, in delectable style "Dodgers" is scripted in blue felt across the front with contrasting "42" in red beneath, a symbol of the passionate play of this legend. In the front tail is the bewitching blue embroidered "J. Robinson" with "52" below representing one of his finest seasons. Sleeves are custom shortened to accommodate his flex-ing biceps. A Rawling tag size 42 is ironically on the collar. The verso is blessed with his important "42" in Dodger blue felt. A late acquisition of this jersey in relation to our catalogue deadline left us unable to match the jersey to existing vintage photos of Jackie wearing it. However, it may indeed be a World Series jersey based on the exceptional condition (the best of all the Jackie jerseys the family owned) but does show exceptional use and character. The jersey will include letter of authenticity from Mrs. Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson is perhaps the only baseball player in history that truly transcends his sport. This is the final opportunity to own a never before offered jersey direct from the family of the most important baseball player (if not athlete) of all time.
