This is the very ring presented to the immortal Jim Brown for his only world championship in the National Football League. Arguably the greatest football player ever, there can be no argument based on statistics and oral history that he is the greatest running back of all-time. His 5.2 yards-per-carry and 104.3 yards-per -game are unequaled. Barry Sanders may be the closest to a rival statistically, but even Sanders’ own father was often quoted as saying that Jim Brown was the greatest running back he ever saw! Brown is also considered one of the greatest all-around athletes ever with his dominance in other sports including his reputation as the greatest lacrosse player who ever lived. The ring was obtained directly from a Brown immediate family member and sold by Lelands.com in 1998. During that original auction preview, Jim Brown himself inspected the ring and acknowledged its authenticity. One of the most important sports pieces ever sold, this gem is without a doubt the finest football piece ever to reach the market. As a sports ring, it is rivaled only by Babe Ruth’s 1927 New York Yankees World Series Ring, which is highly prized by the actor Charlie Sheen (also sold through Lelands.com). Charlie has turned down offers in the many millions for that one. The Brown ring is in beautiful, nearly unworn condition grading NM. It has never been duplicated, and sports the large, glittering, original diamond in the center. It is marked “14k” gold by L.G. Balfour. The immortal name of “JIM BROWN” projects loudly from the shoulder. The ring has remained in one of the finest Cleveland sports collections since its original purchase from the 1998 Lelands auction. The provenance and chain of title is well-documented: Jim Brown to family member to Lelands to Cleveland Sport Collection auction buyer back to Lelands.com and now to you. A ring of this level of player in any sport has NEVER before come to the open market at auction. TOP players but never the best. This is on par with the Babe Ruth ring, no other. This is not once in a lifetime opportunity, it is once in a millenium.
