This is the finest piece of Hall of Fame memorabilia presented to inductees, along with the cherished Hall of Fame ring. This is the one and only presented to Lou Brock, one of the greatest players in history, and along with Ty Cobb, one of the greatest base-stealers if not THE greatest. Brock is a man of character and immeasurable qualities, and a winner proven by his on-field exploits in the clutch. This was presented directly to Brock for his 1985 induction. Not a commercial piece, it was given ONLY to Hall of Famers and each HOFer received only one. Only about 10 or so of these player plaques have ever been sold. Its gorgeous bronze on wood design is a smaller version (otherwise identical) of the one hanging in Cooperstown. For verification, it has been autographed on the verso: “Lou Brock HOF 85.” This is the most coveted recognition in all of baseball, if not all of sports. It is baseball’s version of an Oscar Lifetime Achievement Award.
All players and people, young and old, aspire to earn a spot in Cooperstown, and this is the ultimate representation of that achievement. NRMT condition.
