Mickey Cochrane was widely regarded by many baseball insiders as the gold standard of catchers, and judging by these awards, it was no fluke. Leading off is a silver-plated serving tray by Wallace with some scratching on top due to family use, and it is engraved on the back: "To Mr. and Mrs. G.S. Cochrane From Bay City Baseball Fans 9-19-34." Also offered here is a Sterling silver ice bucket Pyrex liner... an important award that is engraved on the front: "Outstanding Catcher of Modern Time, Mickey Cochrane, 1959, Presented by the Touchdown Club of Columbus, Inc." The items are in EX condition with some tarnishing but can be easily polished. The Hall of Fame Cochrane was a lifetime .320 hitter who was the sparkplug behind the plate on Connie Mack's great pennant-winning Philadelphia A's teams of 1929 through 1931.
