First edition of the first definitive history of the Negro Leagues. The most important book of its kind, as only a handful are known to exist. This is a yearbook type of publication, 128 pages in length with a bountiful exploration of the stars of the game. The teams and gentlemen who defined the game are resplendent in graphic photography. Extensive multi-thousand dollar restoration is so expertly done as to not be noticed upon first glance. It has now put it into a viewing state of being one of the best-known condition specimens. Amazingly, this is an ex-Library of Congress copy that was sold at one of its infamous book sales in the 1960s and '70s and sold for a song. How incredible that this would become one of the most valuable sports books in the world.
