Hard-hitting catcher Mickey Cochrane caught thousands of pitches over his Hall of Fame career, and judging by this passport, he also caught at least a few flights to Europe. The U.S. passport is dated Feb. 8, 1956 and signed "Gordon S. Cochrane" in 7/10 ink on his photo inside, It is stamped with several visas and is in EX condition. Also in this lot is an alligator skin billfold that is stamped inside "Mickey Cochrane Phila. Athletics." This item is of very high quality from the early-to-late 1920s, when Cochrane's career was blossoming as the backstop for the A's. It is also stamped by Cunningham Radio Tubes, which probably gifted these to A's team members. It, too, is in EX condition. Cochrane compiled a lifetime .320 batting average and was voted one of the greatest catchers in baseball history.
