The 1936 Cincinnati Reds team was nothing to write home about, compiling a 74-80 record and finishing fifth in the National League, 18 games behind the pennant-winning Giants. However, this massive scrapbook detailing the club's ups and downs that season is truly first-rate. For starters, there are the hand-painted wood covers crafted by fan and artist Violet Ellis. The front cover is signed by the entire Redlegs team, including Hall of Famers Kiki Cuyler and Ernie Lombardi. And the inside ain't too shabby, either, highlighted by masterfully-fashioned single pages with photos mounted in swaths of leather. There are plenty of original and magazine photos, many of which are signed. There are several more Lombardi signatures inside and another Cuyler along with manager Chuck Dressen and some other real tough signatures. The overall condition is EX with many NRMT signatures.
