The owner of the Brooklyn Dodgers (aka Robins) franchise from 1902 to 1925, Charles Ebbets was the namesake of the franchise's beloved stadium, and in this typed letter he assures a Toledo, Ohio lawyer that there will be team photos taken soon, and other "dope" will be shipped for "advertising purposes." The intricate letterhead features the Ebbets Field logo with crossed bats in the center, flanked by a 1776 battle scene from Long Island and an illustration of the relatively-new Ebbets Field. Ebbets' signature rates 8-10 while the letter has mailing folds and two punch holes at top. The 1915 Robins finished with a respectable 80-72 record and on the date of this particular letter, Brooklyn was victorious in a home game against the crosstown rival Giants, 5-1.
