The 1906 World Series between the Chicago White Sox and the crosstown rival Cubs was the first modern intracity series in MLB history. In one of the greatest upsets of all-time the White Sox, known as the "Hitless Wonders," defeated the 116-win Chicago Cubs four games to two. This wonderful program comes from Game 3 and was issued by the Cubs. The cover of this 8"x10" program shows portraits of three members of MLB's governing body "The National Commission": Harry C. Pulliam, Ban. B. Johnson, and the Chairman, August Herrmann. The back shows members of the Cubs front office: Chas. H. Thomas, Edwin T. Johnson, and Chas. G. Williams. Inside features full page team pictures of both the White Sox and Cubs as well as individual images of Mordecai Brown, John Evers, Joe Tinker and Frank Chance. The cover shows a bit of creasing.
