The first baseball game ever held at the Astrodome was an exhibition game on April 9, 1965 vs. the defending American League champion New York Yankees. As it just so happened, the man who would hit the very first home run in the Eighth Wonder of the World was someone named Mickey Mantle. The program is EX and unscored. Inside are player photos, schedule, seating chart, crossword and vintage ads. Among the photos are young Astros rookies Joe Morgan and Rusty Staub, along with a coach by the name of Don Larsen, who threw the only perfect game in postseason history as a Yankee nine years earlier.
