This is the original World Boxing Council (WBC) Award to Mike Tyson as their Fighter Of The Year for 1987. In 1987 Tyson, already WBC champion unified the heavyweight defeating James Smith to add the WBA version and Tony Tucker to add the IBF version. He also defeated Pinklon Thomas and Tyrell Biggs in 1987. The award is an ornate, Aztec design plate which rests on a wooden base which has the WBC logo and is inscribed MIKE TYSON 1987.
