This Official NL (Giles) baseball was used in the historic game on June 19th, 1952 when Brooklyn beat Chicago 5-0. The baseball was given to our consignor from Carl Erskine right after the game, where Erskine signed the baseball (5/10 in vintage black ink) with, "Best Wishes to Jeff, June 19, 1952, Carl Erskine." A heartfelt letter of authenticity from Jeff, the original recipient, is included, where he talks of the sunny day where he and his father were seated behind home plate at Ebbets Field. After the game, "mayhem reigned" in the Clubhouse after the game where Jeff met Erskine.
