This lot of documents includes: a letter from The White House to a trio of women harpists and violinists (Stusick Trio) who performed at the Eastern States Exposition luncheon party. President Eisenhower signed this in black fountain pen, and joked that he was sorry he missed his cue and that the trio was "forced to play through some twenty-two choruses of "Hail to the Chief". The letter is dated, "September 22, 1953". The envelope was stamped with, "SEP 23 1953". Also included is a Governor's Day program from "September 20th-21st at Eastern States Exposition". There is a small newspaper clipping titled, "Eisenhower Tells Youth Of Need to Serve U.S." The last piece shows the Stusick Trio from The Springfield Union newspaper on Saturday, August 22, 1953. The title above the photo reads, "Stusicks to Perform as Ike Dines at Exposition".
