Jackie Robinson attended UCLA for only two years, but long enough to become the university's first student to letter in four sports; baseball, football, track and basketball. These are two photos from the SF Examiner archives that show Robinson playing for the Bruins during the 1939 and1940 football seasons; specifically versus Stanford. They are both in EX plus condition. One measures 8" x 11 3/4" and shows Robinson looking down upon a Stanford player after he had just scored a touchdown in 1940. The other measures 13 1/4" x 7 3/4" and depicts Robinson running with the football as he eludes a Stanford defender in 1939.
