Collection of original Avery Brundage olympic committee wire photos (73). Mr. Brundage was a controversial member and president of the US Olympic committee as well as president of the International Olympic Committee. Photos are mostly 8" x 10"'s in various conditions ranging from G-NRMT. Brundage is best remembered for his decision to continue on with the 1972 Munich Olympic Games, after a Palestinian terror attack that killed 11Israeli atheletes. Israel vehemently opposed this decision. One photo shows Brundage standing next to the President of Mexico during the 1968 Mexico City games. Another shows him shaking hands with Pope Paul VI in Rome, 1966.
