In 1972, Rick Ley was one of the first players lost by Toronto to the
rival WHA. Ley spent seven years in the newly formed WHA with the New
England Whalers and was a member of the first WHA championship team
in 1973. He was picked to take part in the 1974 Summit Series versus
the USSR and was named to the WHA first and second all-star teams
once each. This all original first year Whalers jersey has Ley’s name
sewn. His traditional number 2 sits on both sleeves and the back.
Pucky logos on both shoulders with Gerry Cosby and size 58 tagging in
the collar. Nice use throughout with five total team repairs
including one each on the front right side and right elbow areas and
three more on the left elbow. Scuffs and one paint transfer on the
right elbow. Sweat staining around the collar. Metal clip style fight
strap inside. A fantastic WHA gamer.
