Both are in the shape of footballs and are engraved "Cliff Montgomery Hall of Fame 1963." Cliff Montgomery was the captain of the Columbia University Lions football team that won the 1934 Rose Bowl. Montgomery threw the pass, a trick play known as the KF-79, which led to Columbia's 7-0 upset over Stanford University. He was named the game's MVP. After college, Montgomery served in the US Navy during World War II. He earned the Silver Star during the1945 invasion of Okinawa and was credited with saving over 400 lives by navigating his flagship alongside a burning destroyer.
