Ever wonder what it would be like to be the inventor of basketball? This archive provides a good look at Dr. James Naismith’s life. Most of the photographs are from the 1910’s to the 1930’s with one early as 1893. Three are printed pictures while the rest are all original, vintage photographs. Two of Dr. Naismith's wife, Maude, who made the first football helmet and one (later print from the 1910's) of the 1893 New Jersey YMCA Basket Ball Championship team. The rest of the photos are images of James Naismith: alone, in the military, with students and colleagues. They range in size from snapshot to 8x10" One photo postcard is even signed "Jim" on the back and has a handwitten note to his daughter. A great lot. Average condition is VG.
