The former reliever, best remembered for his work behind the plate as an ump, Bill Kunkel, donned this jersey during his rookie season in KC. the flannel "home" pinstriper is all original and has his number "32" on back and left sleeve. The front tail has a [size] "42" tag from Wilson and "No. 9 Set 2-61" chain-stitched in the front tail. It is our opinion that the "No. 9" was some sort of inventory number for the team jerseys during the 1961 season. There is no evidence of a "9" ever being sewn to this jersey but evidently someone thought that it was at one time and had the player who wore actually did wear the number sign this jersey. That man was Hank Bauer (9/10). Nice use and condition. The matching pants are properly tagged and are a [size] "36". "J. Gisberg 1961-2-24" is sewn in the waist but a player by the name of Ginsberg is not on the roster for 1961. Several other names written in the waist in marker. Blue stirrups also included.
