Hank Norberg played for two years in the AAFC and one year in the NFL between 1946 and 1948. He was fortunate enough to play for the San Francisco 49ers during their 1st year in the AAFC and it is strongly believed that this is the helmet that he wore when he caught the first touchdown pass in 49ers history during a pre-season game. Players at that time wore only one helmet, and wear on this piece is evidence of that fact. Leather and composite helmet has been painted several times, but still shows heavy use with cracks and chipping. Stamped "AirLite Cushion Rubber" inside. Norberg has written his name on the inside padding. Original chin strap is broken on one side. Included is a book on 49ers team history, as well as a 1946 AAFC reproduction media guide and 1944 Navy Airdevils and Air Force Flyers program, all from Norberg’s collection.
