Another of those rare-breed forever Detroit Tigers, Al Kaline, like another northern big cat Ty Cobb, spent more than 20 with his team. This Hall of Famer smacked this one into the stands on October 10th, 1972, in the American League Championship Series opening game with the Oakland A’s, but ironically it was Kaline’s throwing error which later allowed an A’s run and cost that particular game. The A’s went on to the World Series. This Official American League (Cronin) baseball carries in vintage ink, "A's-Detroit Playoffs. Homerun ball by Al Kaline 10-7-72". Ball is signed by Jim Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Bill Freehan, Rollie Fingers, and four other players. Ball shows good game use.
