After arch rival and good buddy Robin Yount of the Milwaukee Brewers bopped his 3,000th hit in early September 1992, it only seemed right that George Brett do it too, but in his own style, which had the Kansas City Royals third baseman knocking four hits in one game to toe # 3,000, against the Anaheim Angels on September 30. Truly a generational thing, Brett and Yount both were one-team men, each remaining true to one club right to the end. This Official American League (Brown) baseball shows fine use from the game in which Brett got his 3000th hit, and was signed "George Brett" on the sweet spot in 9/10 blue ink. LOA from umpire Dave Phillips who acquired this ball from a clubhouse person.
