The great jazz singer Sarah Vaughn is portrayed ingeniously on this 1970 Mexican concert poster by acclaimed Venezuelan designer and poster-artist Santiago Pol; Benday dots and a thought balloon in the style of artist Roy Lichtenstein capture her image in classic 60’s Pop Art style. Surrounded by a mustard yellow frame, her smiling visage looks upward and, in thought-balloon form, she thinks the information (in Spanish) of the September 1970 concert. Interesting touch is the very small punch-holed “G.D.F. 1970” on upper right side. Despite minor edge wear, this is a wonderful, lively poster, measuring 19 ? x 30 ?”.
