With 3514 hits over 22 seasons (1907-28), primarily with Boston and Cleveland, and with a career batting average of .345, outfielder Tris Speaker surely ranks among the truly great players in baseball history. This superb action shot shows Speaker in a Cleveland uniform, with his eyes most intently on the ball. This “Conlon-quality” photograph measures 4 3/4” x 7”, and is circa 1920, the year Cleveland won the World Series. Condition is VG with a slight dogear at one corner and two light creases. Remnants of a photo album page are adhered to the reverse, which could be readily removed if so desired.
