1914 Rube Waddell photo postcard, a remarkably clear photo of the dying baseball star. Hall-of-Famer Waddell recorded 349 strikeouts in 1904, and was a four-time 20-game winner; Connie Mack sang his praises, saying “he had more stuff than any pitcher I ever saw”. It was widely reported that Waddell became ill after piling sandbags beside a flooded Kentucky river; he passed away on April 1, 1914, in San Antonio, Texas. The card is postmarked February 26, 1914, San Antonio, and features a brief descriptive note. Condition: EX-MT, slight mark from paperclip.
