Burke worked out of Chicago and became one of the premier baseball photographers of the 1920s and 1930s. His photos are known for creating a painting like atmosphere and this is a superb collection of 14 of the prettiest baseball photos you’ll ever run into. Most are of Hall of Famers: Herb Pennock, Lloyd Waner, Kiki Cuyler, Joe Cronin, Al Simmons, Moe Berg, Jimmy Austin (famous for his role in the Charles Conlon photo avoiding Ty Cobb’s high sliding spikes), Charlie Root (wearing fez), Ray Schalk (2), and more. All are 4 X 6”, some with black paper on top of the backs that can be removed.
