Here's another card, like that of Joe Wood, that is a non-Hof'er and yet sells for a big premium. The reason for this one is not that Cicotte was headed for a HOF career, (he was at the end of a successful but not iconic career) but rather that he was the principal disgruntled Chicago player who alledgedly led 7 others to throw the 1919 World Series vs. Cincinnati. He's shown here during happier days with the Sox in 1915, with a big smile on his face and ready to give it his best shot. The card is a perfectly centered, high grade gem that's near the top of the scale in terms of eye appeal. Rock solid PSA 8 condition.
