Baseball great Joe Tinker went through a great run with the Cubs during the first decade of the 1900's but by the middle of the teens the star was in the midst of several seasons of team switching and infighting with his coaches and owners. However, as field manager of the Chicago Whales in the Federal League years of 1914 and 1915, his teams actually outdrew the Cubbies! He's shown on this elegant, classic looking issue from his days with the champion Whales on a card which is rarely, if ever, seen this nice. Long standing as one of the toughest Hall of Famer cards from the '15 Cracker Jack set to find in the highest grades, this resides now as one of only 6 examples to garner the grade of Nm/Mt 8, with none higher, from PSA. The card is exceptionally clean appearing, with a crisp, focused image, vibrant colors and superb print quality. There is a very light surface abrasion above Joe's left shoulder that only minimally hinders the card's otherwise flawless eye appeal, and each of the four corners are true high end beauties exhibiting virtually no wear. The reverse is perfectly printed and completely stain free. This is the first time in recent memory that this card has been offered for sale publically, so if you want it or need it prepare to go to the wall for a chance to own this legendary rarity! Strong Near Mint to Mint condition.
