The most famous single photograph ever taken of this immortal pair makes this the definitive photograph of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig to have signed. Linked for eternity, they stand in the uniforms of the Bustin’ Babes Larrupin’ Lou’s Tour that they took immediately following the 1927 World Series. They had just proved their supremacy to the world as the greatest duo of all time; the fanfare and hoopla associated with the pair is unmatched possibly for eternity. Measuring 8x10”, the photo pictures the Babe standing with his arm on Gehrig’s shoulder, introspection into the future bad blood that would start and continue on until Lou Gehrig Day at Yankee Stadium in 1939. Babe is in black, Lou is in white. Their facsimile signatures are bold and evident. Below the facsimile it is authentically signed in ink “Babe Ruth” and “Lou Gehrig.” The real photo itself has some defects including pinholes and a tear to one of the corners. The photo itself is of withstanding quality. The Ruth signature is in beautiful condition with the only defect a smear to one of the quotes. The Gehrig is light, grading 4/10. One of the signature pieces of the industry and worthy of a fine cabernet and a hearty filet mignon while inspecting.
