Circa 1967-68 Roger Maris St. Louis Cardinals signed and inscribed game used bat. Hillerich & Bradsby Model O16 ash bat measures 35.0" and weighs 32.1 ounces. Uncracked and light use is displayed with with several red paint transfers attributed to the Cardinals' bat rack, though no ball marks are visible on the barrel. Number 9 is written on both the knob and top barrel in black marker. It is autographed between trademark and barrel stamp in 4/10 marker, faded but legible, with the ink appearing to have been black; inscription reads, "To Hank, Best Always." Still a legendary figure in MLB annals on the strength of his 1961 home run chase with Mickey Mantle, which resulted in Maris clubbing a long-time single-season record of 61, "Rajah" helped the Cardinals to two National League pennants and the 1967 World Series title despite his skills diminishing and being in the final two years of his career. Comes with full PSA from LOA, with the bat earning a grade of PSA/DNA GU 7. Please note that the PSA LOA covers game use only, and not the signature or inscription, however the included JSA LOA asserts that both the autograph and its inscription were written in Roger's hand.
