Walter Johnson, known as "The Big Train," is a Hall of Fame right-hander who played his entire Major League career for the Washington Senators (1907-27). Presented is a Walter Johnson signed baseball that can be presented as a single-signed ball. The ball has three signatures. Johnson signed on the sweet spot. Also signing the ball is Joe Cronin, a Hall of Fame shortstop and Bill McGowan, a Hall of Fame umpire.

Walter Johnson stood 6'1", but he had the extremely long arms of someone much taller. He usually pitched as a sidearm thrower, and he used his long right arm to practically sling the ball to the plate. He had a lifetime 417-279 record, and his win total is still the second best all-time. His 100 shutouts are the bast ever, and he is 4th in the Major Leagues in complete games with 531. Johnson was a World Champion in 1924 and a 2-time AL MVP and a 3-time winner of the Pitching Triple Crown. Joe Cronin played for the Pittsburgh Pirates (1926-27), Washington Senators (1928-34), and Boston Red Sox (1935-47). He batted a career .301 with 170 home runs. He also was a noted Major League manager and executive. Bill McGowan umpired in the American League from 1925-34. McGowan was chosen to umpire in eight World Series and four All-Star Games. He is in the Baseball Hall of Fame.

The multi-signed baseball is a Reach Official American League Ball (Harridge) from the 1934-39 era. The three signatures were done in black ink from a steel-tip fountain pen. All of the signatures are big, and they are neatly signed. The ball comes with a JSA LOA for the three signatures. The ball can also display as a single-signed ball with a Walter Johnson signature.
