Displayed is a full ticket to Game 2 of the 1969 World Series held at Baltimore's Memorial Stadium on Oct. 12, 1969, when the New York Mets won by a 2-1 score to even the Series at one game each. Attached to the full ticket is an X-Panel ticket to the same seat. Before the Series began, the Fall Classic confrontation appeared to be a David and Goliath affair, with the Miracle Mets decidedly in the role of little David, while the Baltimore Orioles, with future Hall of Famers Brooks and Frank Robinson and Jim Palmer, managed by future Hall of Famer Earl Weaver, definitely in the role of Goliath. In Game 2, the Mets broke a scoreless tie in the top of the 4th inning when Donn Clendenon homered to deep right field off of left-handed starter Dave McNally. Baltimore tied the game in the bottom of the 7th inning on a Brooks Robinson two-out single to score Paul Blair from second. In the top of the 9th, the Mets took a 2-1 lead on an Al Weis single to score Ed Charles. Mets starter, and winner, Jerry Koosman walked two Orioles with two out in the bottom of the 9th, and Ron Taylor came in to relieve, getting the save on a Brooks Robinson ground out. The Mets had some future Hall of Famers as well. Gil Hodges was the New York manager, and Yogi Berra was a coach. Mets pitchers Tom Seaver and Nolan Ryan would also make Cooperstown. The Mets won the next three games to take the Series and earn the nickname as "The Miracle Mets."

The full actual ticket measures approx. 2.5x7.4", and it remains attached to an X-Panel ticket to GAME X. Each of the full tickets, the Game 2 ticket and the X-Panel ticket, reads, in part, "BALTIMORE ORIOLES 1969 WORLD SERIES/MEMORIAL STADIUM/BALTIMORE, MARYLAND/LOWER BOX/PRICE $15.00." The difference between the two tickets is that the valid ticket reads "GAME 2" and the facsimile ticket reads "GAME X." The offering has been encapsulated and PSA Graded (96082346) as "VG-EX 4."
