Presented is a circa 1960s Salvador Dali etching titled "Don Quixote." Dali was born in 1904 in Figuere, in Catalonia. Interested in art from an early age, he studied the arts in Madrid. Originally intrigued by impressionism and the Renaissance Masters, he later switched his interest to surrealism and many other modes of expression, including Cubism and the avant-garde movement. Throughout his life, Dali was fascinated by dreams and the subconscious, both of which were constant motifs in his work. His most famous painting is The Persistence of Memory, which involved "melting" clocks, perhaps in reference to Einstein's Theory of Relativity. Dali fled Spain during the Spanish Civil War and lived in France. Later, he moved to the United States and then later in life he resided again in Spain. Dali was versatile in the arts, and he was also a sculptor, photographer, and writer. He received many honors: For example, Created 1st Marquess of Dali of Pubol, by King Juan Carlos, of Spain.

The offered etching measures approx. 5.5x8.75", matted and framed to 11.5x14.5". Although it is surreal, the suggestion of Don Quixote, as a knight on a horse, can clearly be imagined. On the etching, there is a raised, white circle, approx. 0.5" in diameter, near the top right corner. On back, the back of the frame is secure, but the brown paper backing over the back cardboard is ripped in several areas and coming apart. On this brown backing paper is part of a titling, which reads, ""Don Quixote" SALVADOR DALI (1904-  )." The etching itself is in EXCELLENT condition.
