Original Type I photograph capturing Mickey Mantle during his 1951 rookie season. Mantle is captured posing in the dugout with fellow New York Yankees outfielder Jackie Jensen. A handwritten credit for the photographer ("Mahoney") appears on the reverse, along with numerous handwritten editorial notations and several date stamps, the earliest of which reads "Apr 27 1951." Given the date, this photo was most likely taken at Fenway Park during the Yankees two-game series against the Red Sox on April 26 and April 27th. Mantle made his Major League debut just ten days earlier, making this an extremely early Mantle rookie photograph. The photo (6.5x8.5") displays moderate creasing throughout, light surface wear, and the number of "750" written in pencil in the lower right corner. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
