Original Type I photograph capturing catcher Moe Berg as a member of the Boston Red Sox in 1936. Berg is pictured posing on the field as he stares directly into the camera. Two Boston Traveler credit stamps appear on the reverse, along with many handwritten editorial notations and several date stamps, the earliest of which reads "Mar 10 1936." Berg was a backup catcher for his nearly his entire fifteen-year Major League career (1923-39), but is best remembered today for his spy career with the OSS prior to and during World War II. The photo (4.5x6.75") has been neatly trimmed to its current dimensions and displays a small area of light soiling on the front. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
