Original Type I photograph capturing Joe DiMaggio during his 1936 rookie season. This may be the earliest news photo taken of DiMaggio during that historic year, as it pictures the twenty-one year old PCL star as he leaves San Francisco en route to his first spring training with the New York Yankees on February 13th. DiMaggio is seen giving his mother a kiss goodbye at the family's front door as his father looks on. An "Acme Newspictures" label, dated "2-13" appears on the reverse, along with an "N. E. A." credit stamp, dated "2-17-36." The photo (7x9") displays several light creases. Encapsulated by PSA as Type I Authentic.
