Presented is a circa 1960-63 Jack Twyman Cincinnati Royals game worn jersey. Twyman, a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, played 11 NBA seasons, all for the Rochester/Cincinnati Royals (now the Sacramento Kings): Rochester (1955-56 through 1956-57), Cincinnati (1957-58 through 1965-66). A 6'6" small forward, Twyman scored 15,840 points, for a lifetime 19.2 PPG. He was a 6-time All-Star. In 1959, Twyman became the first NBA player other than Wilt Chamberlain to average 30 points or more during a season. Later, he and Oscar Robertson, on the Cincinnati Royals, became the first NBA teammates to each average over 30 points a game. When Royals teammate Maurice Stokes, also a Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer, suffered a serious head injury in the last game of the 1957-58 season, and became paralyzed, Twyman became Stokes' legal guardian. Twyman would sit next to Stokes and point to letters on a chart and Stokes would blink at the letter he wanted to communicate. Twyman raised money for Stokes' medical care by organizing an annual Maurice Stokes Basketball Game. Twyman's great devotion to Stokes resulted in the annual the NBA's annual Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award being instituted to honor both Stokes and Twyman.
The sleeveless, pullover, Dureen jersey is white, with blue and red trim. The Wilson jersey has a 20" chest measurement and a 30" torso measurement.
