Brett Saberhagen was a 2-time American League Cy Young winner with the Kansas City Royals who was the 1985 World Series MVP with Kansas City. Presented is a circa 1997-99 & 2001 Saberhagen signed Boston Red Sox clubhouse (locker room) chair, manufactured by Clarin Boxx Seats, from the right-hander's years with Boston. Saberhagen pitched for 16 Major League seasons: Kansas City Royals (1984-91), New York Mets (1992-95), Colorado (1995), and Boston Red Sox (1997-99 & 2001). Saberhagen had a lifetime 167-117 record with a 3.34 ERA. The clubhouse chair is metal with a cushioned seat, back, and armrests. The chair folds down for use, and measures approx. 15x17" for the seat of the chair, with a height of the chair at approx. 31", and an approx. weight of 21 lbs. The metal parts of the chair are blue. The white backrest reads, "Red Sox" in red letters with blue trim. The white seat of the chair reads, "Boston", in blue letters with red trim and "Red Sox", in red letters with blue trim. The seat features the iconic Red Sox logo. On the seat, Bret Saberhagen has hand printed "locker room seat" in blue marker. Using bold script, Saberhagen signed the seat in blue, fiber-tip marker. The chair exhibits nice use, with some stains and smudges, mostly tiny or small, and good wear along the "legs" of the folding chair. The chair still folds in-and-out when desired, and it is entirely functional. It has fine eye-appeal, and it will present well in any sports collection.
