Encased within a delicate crystal ball is a 6” gold football figurine mounted to a black ceramic base. The accompanying engraved gold plaque reads, “Dell Crystal Ball, All-America-1962, John Mackey-Syracuse.” Presented to John following his spectacular junior season this elegant and fragile award. A single paint chip to the rear of the base is the only noticeable flaw on this otherwise EX-MT piece. Mackey would go on to have significant success for the Baltimore Colts, making five Pro-Bowls and winning Super Bowl V in 1971. Mackey was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1992.
