Remarkable Michael Jordan twice-signed two-page handwritten love letter, dated May 20, 1981, penned to his high-school sweetheart. PSA has encapsulated each page of the letter, grading the signature on page one MINT 9 and the signature on page two NM-MT 8. This is one of the most amazing Michael Jordan items we have ever seen and even if one has no intention of ultimately owning it, we encourage everyone to read it. 

Jordan wrote this letter near the end of his senior year in high school to his girlfriend, to whom he professes his love numerous times. However, he makes clear that she will have to share his love with the game of basketball. In part:

I hope I can never stop thinking about you... you are my whole life next to basketball. Please don't get mad about that statement. You are my whole life but you can't have basketball. It's hard for me to do this because one day I hope to make a living of this and I want you to be by my side. I can never show how much my love goes for you but each day I try to show you.

The letter is scripted in blue ink on two separate sheets of lined notebook paper. On the first sheet, in the upper right corner, Jordan has scripted both his name and the date (which he wrote in Spanish): Michael Jordan/20 de Mayo de 1981." On the second sheet he has closed the letter by writing "Love/Michael Jordan." Each sheet (8x10.25") displays five notebook holes along the left border and three horizontal mailing folds. A few light creases are also evident. Excellent condition overall.

My Dearest Sweetheart,

How has life treated you since the last time I seen you. How are your parents and the rest of your family doing, fine I hope.  I writing to tell you what I have been trying to tell you for I don’t know how long.  Every (sic) since we have been going together I can’t keep from thinking about you. I hope I can never stop thinking about you. Laquetta you are my whole life next to basketball. Please don’t get mad about that statement. You are my whole life. But you can’t have basketball. It hard for me to do this because one day I hope to make a living of this and I want you to be by my side. I can never show you how much my love goes for you but each day I try to show you. 

Next year I will show you things you can’t believe. Some of these things will amaze you. Laquetta, I will go out my way just to speak to you. This show you how much I really care. My love for you will never run out. It will continue on through life. I am trying to get closer and closer to your family. I want them to know that I love you, but if Lynwood doesn’t want that, then it will be sort of hard for me to do this. I hope you love for me and my love for you can overcome his reasons for us not getting together.
