Original artwork, by noted sports artist Bill Purdom, capturing Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins as a member of the Chicago Cubs. Signed by the artist in the lower right corner. The striking image pictures Jenkins in mid-windup on the mound at Wrigley Field, with the scoreboard and bleachers pictured in the background. Bill Purdom (1953-2016) was the most prolific artist in the history of the Topps Company, having created over 340 images for baseball, football, and basketball cards. His lithographs were featured as background art in several hit television shows, including Seinfeld, Arliss, and Everybody Loves Raymond. Today, lithographs of all seventy-five of Purdom's baseball paintings reside in the permanent collection of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
