Displayed is a 1951 Stan "The Man" Musial Type I photograph that was taken by famed photographer William Jacobellis and used during the 1954 Red Heart photoshoot. Musial was noted for his corkscrew stance, with his "peek-a-boo" look over his right forearm at the pitcher. The Hall of Famer played his entire 22-year career with the St. Louis Cardinals and was a 7-time NL batting champ. In 1954, a baseball card contract dispute between Topps and Bowman resulted in neither company producing a Musial card that season, but the Cardinals legend does appear in the 33-card Red Heart (Dog Food) set, and the card was based on the offering, Musial's Type I William Jacobellis photograph. The presented 8x10" black & white photo has been encapsulated and PSA Certified as "TYPE I AUTHENTIC." The William Jacobellis photographer's stamp is on back.
