Presented is a Jimmie Foxx last game ticket stub & scorecard, and original photograph. Jimmie Foxx, one of the best sluggers in Major League Baseball history played the last game of his career on September 23, 1945. The game featured the Phillies vs. Dodgers and was played in Brooklyn at Ebbets Field. The Phillies won Foxx's final game, the second of a doubleheader, 4-3. The ticket is also from the first game of the doubleheader, in which the Dodgers beat the Phillies 9-0. The ticket has been graded VG 3 (MK) by PSA. The back of the ticket includes handwritten text in black ink of the scores of both games, "1) B'klyn. 9, Phil. 0," and "2) Phil. 4, B'klyn. 3." The ticket measures 1.5x2.75," and has been encapsulated by PSA. Also included in the lot is a scorecard from that day's games. The scorecard measures 8x9.5" and has been scored in pencil. One side of the scorecard is from the first game of the doubleheader, and the other side features game two. The top of each page reads, "Compliments of the BROOKLYN EAGLE." Completing the lot is an 8x10" glossy photograph of Foxx in a pitching pose. The photo is not from his last game. Instead, it was taken at some point during the 1945 season. There is writing on the back of the photograph, in an unknown hand, that reads, "Jimmy Foxx, Phillies as he looks when pitching. 1945." The photo is in excellent condition.
