Displayed is an Ed Walsh signed and inscribed index card with a PSA/DNA Certified AUTO GRADE of GEM MINT 10. Hall of Fame right-hander Walsh was a tremendous workhorse who pitched in the Major Leagues from 1904-17: Chicago White Sox (1904-16), Boston Braves (1917). Walsh averaged 375 innings pitched from 1907-12, and he was the last pitcher to pitch over 400 innings in a season (1907 and '08). Walsh's best pitch was a spitball, a legal delivery when he played. Walsh had a lifetime record of 195-126, in a career cut short by arm injuries. Known as "Big Ed," Walsh still has the lowest lifetime ERA for any pitcher who spent substantial time in the Major Leagues (1.82). The offered index card measures 3x5". Typed at the top: "Hall of Fame" and "Edward A. Walsh." Using blue ink, Walsh neatly signed and inscribed," Ed. A. Walsh/Hall of Fame." The index card exhibits some slight darkening and light foxing, but it is otherwise in EXCELLENT condition. The offering has been encapsulated and has a PSA/DNA Certified AUTO GRADE of "GEM MT 10."
