Born as Alois Szymanski in 1902 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Hall of Famer Al Simmons became one of the top hitters in baseball history. Offered is the opportunity to possess a beautiful gold-colored, metal Association of Professional Ball Players of America Life Membership Pass. Simmons played 20 seasons in the Major Leagues (1924-41 & '44). He achieved most of his fame for his first nine seasons of play, all with the Philadelphia Athletics. He also played for the Chicago White Sox, Detroit Tigers, Washington Senators, Boston Bees, Cincinnati Reds, and Boston Red Sox. He batted an amazing .334 lifetime with 307 home runs. The 3-time All-Star was a 2-time AL batting champion, a 2-time World Champion, and the AL RBI leader in 1929. His best season was in 1930 with the Athletics when he won the first of his two consecutive AL batting titles, batting .381, adding 36 home runs, scoring 152 runs, and driving in 165 runs - all of this in just 138 games. After his playing career, he became a Major League coach. He was especially valuable to the great Connie Mack when the Hall of Fame manager was in the later part of his 50-year run as the skipper of the Philadelphia Athletics and Simmons became his right-hand man in the dugout. The offered metal pass measures 2.1x3.9". Machine printed on the front: "Association of Professional Ball Players of America Confers Upon AL SIMMONS [engraved] Life Membership/Win Clark, SECY/No.363." The pass comes with its original slipcase, and the pass is in NRMT condition.
