Presented is a 1960s Willie Mays signed index card that also has a signature by fellow San Francisco Giant and Baseball Hall of Famer Orlando Cepeda. Mays, the "Say Hey Kid," played 22 Major League seasons with the New York/San Francisco Giants. Mays, a 24-time All-Star, is considered by some baseball pundits to be the baseball Greatest of All Time (G.O.A.T.) because of his superb five-tool skills. The 1951 NL Rookie of the Year, Mays began play that year in New York's Polo Grounds, with an immense center field, wonderfully suited to his great speed, terrific arm, and incredible ability to track baseballs. He batted .301 lifetime, with 660 home runs, a total that most likely would have been significantly higher if he hadn't spent much of his career hitting in San Francisco's Candlestick Park, with prevailing winds that kept many baseballs from reaching the left field fence. Mays will be forever known for "The Catch," his great, over-the-shoulder grab of a blast in a key moment of Game 1 when the Giants won the 1954 World Series. The offered postcard measures 3x5". Mays signed a neat signature in blue ink. Cepeda, who played nine seasons of his 18-year career with the San Francisco Giants as a first baseman/left fielder, batted a lifetime .297, with 379 home runs. He signed the postcard, also in blue ink, above the Mays signature. The postcard shows darkening and foxing that is fitting with its approx. six-decade age. The signatures are 8/10 in strength. The postcard has been encapsulated and PSA/DNA Certified as "AUTHENTIC AUTO."
