A cabinet photograph of baseball Hall of Famer Cap Anson taken during the late 1800s. The photo is 4x8" and features a headshot of the first baseman who starred for the Philadelphia Athletics and Chicago White Stockings. Like most cabinet photographs, this image has been mounted on stiff cardboard and was likely displayed at the turn of the century. Anson was one of the very first stars of the game, leading the National League in hitting twice and in RBIs eight times. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1939, one of the first players to be so honored. The size of the photo is 7.25x3.75" and overall size of the cabinet is 8.25x4".
