Displayed is a multi-signed baseball with the circa 1934 signatures of Hall of Fame immortals Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, plus 11 additional visible signatures. In 1934, Ruth was playing his last season with the New York Yankees, and he would retire as a Boston Brave during the 1935 season with his then-record 714 home runs. Gehrig in 1934 was on his way to setting his then-MLB record consecutive game streak of 1,260. Signing on the sweet spot are Connie Mack and Al Schacht. Mack, a Hall of Fame manager, skippered the Philadelphia Athletics for the team's first 50 seasons (1901-50). He still holds the MLB records for games managed (7,755), wins (3,731), and losses (3,948). Al Schacht was a Major League pitcher who transitioned into being a baseball entertainer known as "The Clown Prince of Baseball." Dixie Walker was an outfielder with five Major League teams, batting .306 lifetime and winning the NL 1944 batting championship. Other signatures: Lyn Lary, Don Heffner, and more. The ball exhibits substantial darkening and there is a pronounced circular stain on a side panel. A very thin substance, such as shellac, has been applied in some areas to preserve the autographs. Aside from the aforementioned imperfections, the ball is in good condition. The signatures are 5/10 overall, but the Ruth and Gehrig signatures are two of the strongest. The multi-signed ball comes with a PSA LOA for the signatures.
